Home Visit Physiotherapy

Problems getting into clinic?

‘We work with people in their own homes to help them recover from illness, injury, or surgery. We have a special interest in older people, to help regain and maintain independence.

So, whether you or a family member are recovering from surgery, illness, a fall, suffering from chronic pain or just want to be more active we will work with you to help you do more of what you want to do.

Our approach is holistic, undertaking a physical examination, listening, and talking to you about any fears or barriers you have regarding physical activity, finding out what you want to achieve from physiotherapy and identifying long and short-term goals. From this assessment we will create with you a treatment program unique to your needs so you can attain your best treatment outcome.

Where necessary our expert home visit physiotherapist can advise on specialised equipment and refer onto or liaise, with other health professionals.

What does a home visit entail?

Once you have contacted us to express an interest in a home visit. You will then be telephoned by our physiotherapist to determine whether your treatment needs and goals can be met though home treatment and a suitable appointment time agreed. A referral from another health professional can be helpful especially in more complex cases.

Your first visit will involve a discussion between you and your physiotherapist, followed by a physical examination which will assess your movement, strength, biomechanics, and fitness as appropriate, before agreeing your treatment plan.

Everyone is unique with individual goals, so it is important to tailor your rehabilitation to you.

What do we assess and treat?
  • Post surgery, e.g., hip and knee replacements

  • General frailty

  • Mobility issues

  • Falls

  • Joint and muscle pain

  • Arthritis

  • Spinal pain

  • Chronic pain

"Many thanks for your help with my back. Your advice was 100% good. I was sent off for x-rays - crush fractures were the problem. Many thanks for all your help in setting me off in the right direction."

‘’You were absolutely right about my ankle kicking out. After seeing you Friday, I rested Saturday and did the exercises that you gave me. I ran 11.7 k on Sunday, thinking the whole time about that push off and had no problems. There was a niggle but no pain. Last night I did 7 k and other interval sprints and had no issues. I will keep up the exercises.’’ Thank you AGAIN! You were right AGAIN!

‘’I was delighted and relieved I was able to organize physio sessions remotely with Louise (during Covid). With her expertise and many years of experience in post-op rehabilitation, in our remote/video sessions Louise is able to pinpoint even the smallest of deviations from desired movements in those exercises she has recommended. Her quiet calm, capable mannerand the clear guidance she offers in simple and straightforward language, make it easy for me to understand what she is asking of me and my leg! Louise’s follow up email containing links to an exercise plan and video clips for assigned exercises represents invaluable support in between our remote sessions.’’
